Anyone else remember that phrase? If you do, you're admitting to being of a certain age. As I figure most of my readers remember it well, I thought it safe to use it as a title. It was an ad for British Telecom in the early eighties with a load of busy busy penguins and when I sat down to blog today - to try and explain my absence for so long - the phrase came to mind. Have a peek?
I was actually horrified when I realised I haven't blogged in over, er, six weeks. No excuses. I've had a fabulous but busy time and today I have some 'me time' back. And the first thing I want to do is get back in touch with my inner blog child. The one that routinely writes, the one who loves chatting to blog pals, the one who sometimes (not often) has something important to say. The one who says it anyway even when it's not important.
Trying to get back into my writing routine does of course require a 'To Do' list. Today's list makes me smile because it's my list of things I want to do for me. Yay! The simple pleasures.
First on my list is to apologise to any readers that I may have left (Is there anybody theeerrrre???) after being away so long. Bless me bloggers, for I have sinned. It's been six weeks since my last outing. The second thing on my list is to read and re-write the first chapter of the book. Yeah. The book.....I still haven't started the submission process but I WILL. Very soon. I figure it will be on next Wednesday's list. The third thing is to pay my credit card bill though I suspect that may make it to Wednesday's list too.
See? Some things don't change in six weeks.
So, I'll leave you until Monday with something else along the penguin theme. This one, rather than send my heart rate racing reminding me of my busy Summer, makes me feel happy. It makes my feet tap together under the desk. If I had red shoes I'd be in Kansas.
