Sorry I've been absent for a while; loads happening on the home front like...
- Builders in. Alas, no diet coke men.
- Daughter getting married. Am dreaming of wedding venues and food and suffering from shock at what weddings cost. In my day you got a glass of mi-wadi (particularly awful orange squash) and an egg sarni.
- Have taken up boxing. Yes, the sparring kind. Stop laughing.
- Planning next novel. Can't type much due to sore middle finger after particularly expressive sparring. So actively 'planning' for now.
- In a fit of fever, I thought it would be a good idea to get my husband fifty little pressies and give him one every day for fifty days, until his fiftieth birthday. As I said, I was feverish. Has been ok since 18th March but am rapidly running out of ideas that cost somewhere between 50p and £1.99. Any suggestions gratefully received. I'm ok until next Thursday. Crap.

You sound as if you've been rather busy with everything that's going on. I love weddings and am hoping my brother hurries up and gets married soon so I can go to one.

A present, what about a Cadbury's creme egg. I suppose you thought of that one though.
I tried to do something similar with presents and ran into the same problem! There did end up being rather a lot of sweets and chocolate (usually of retro variety), a few different bottles of beer and really odd stuff like combs!

I love that 50 gifts for 50 days idea! Clever you. Suggestions...erm...*brain dries up* Oh okay how about going into a sweet shop and buying several bags of different 'old fashioned' sweets? Buying packets of seeds to plant? A tiny spiral bound notepad filled with descriptions of things you love about him, recounting events you've shared together and photos / sketches. Hope those ideas help.
Oooh Fi what a lovely idea! The posts above have some fab ideas - do you have a clas olsen store near you? They have some great gadgets that are v cheap. I personally would go and raid the pound shop! Ooooh what about a mix tape of all the songs that are special to you?
Maybe you could resort to 'vouchers' for a relaxing massage or, ahem, something?
Otherwise, say your fingers were hurting too much after boxing, and your head spinning too fast with wedding talk and novel plans to think of new ideas!
